Adapter Card

SuiteFactory supports the use of multi-port serial adapters. This is an older technology and we in general suggest you look at the other technologies available. However if you have a legacy system using this technology will support this configuration given that operating system supports these. Call if you need help.

Note: The PCI cards are installed in any workstation where the communication engine will be running. Serial Drivers need to be installed for SuiteFactory to operate correctly. These are supplied as part of the initial installation. You can download these from http://support.comtrol.com/download.asp.

Cables are physically attached to the PC/Adapter Card to the various machine tools. CCI only supplies these with surge protection.

If you have a PC per Machine Tool you can opt to use a standard RS232 COM1-COM4 port.

Drip-feeding is used to drive a machine tool block by block and in general the "tape" size exceeds the available memory of the machine tool cnc controller.
