Check Out and Edit

Overview

SuiteFactory's database is truly ISO9000 compliant and provides the means to control file/document versions and the who or what may be accessing/modifying these documents stored in its database. 

When you use the "Check Out and Edit" feature of SuiteFactory the file being manipulated/edited is marked inaccessible until it is checked back into SuiteFactory.  This protects this file from being used or modified by any other User until it is checked back in to SuiteVault.

Note: If you are looking to control Files within SuiteVault and need to edit file that are controlled in SuiteFactory the following will explain how.

Click on the "Check Out and..." Icon and the following Window will be displayed.

Select Third-Party Application

After making a selection click the "OK" or "Cancel" button.  If you clicked the "OK" button the following Window will be displayed.

Conformation and Updating Choice

Chose one of the options above and if you have not "Cancelled" the following Window will be displayed.

Assign to Resource Collection(s)

Select the "Resource Collection(s)" you want to assign this File to, only for a New Name Choice, and click the "OK" button and the following Window is displayed.

Chose a New Name

Enter the new name and click the "Copy and Assign" or "Cancel/Close" button.  If you didn't chose the "Cancel/Close" button the following sample Application is displayed .

After editing close the Third-Party Application.
