File Cabinets

Overview

Support of Drag & Drop in today's applications is expected and most consider it mandatory.  SuiteFactory supports Drag & Drop where the use is efficient and intuitive. The objects that SuiteFactory's supports for dragging & dropping include: N/C Files; Documents; Packets and File Cabinets.

To move a File Cabinet (the only drag & drop function supported for File Cabinets) use the left hand mouse button and drag the File Cabinet to another File Cabinet, Draw, Hanger, etc.  When a yellow File Cabinet appears over the selected target you can release the mouse button (drop the source File Cabinet) in its new position.

A File Cabinet can be dropped at any level on another File Cabinet and SuiteFactory will supply the correct Icon for its level and inform you of any needed security changes as a result of being moved to its new position.  In General accept the suggested changes.

Note: See below for details on dragging & dropping using the left hand mouse button.

Manage DNC Files (Assigned Items-Yellow File Cabinet diplayed)

When you see the yellow File Cabinet over the File Cabinet you want to move to release the left mouse button.  The following Window will be displayed.

Move File Cabinet

Clicking on the No button will cancel the action.  Clicking on the Yes button will display the following Window.

Edit File Cabinet Security

Depending on the access securities set for the destination File Cabinet you are dragging a source File Cabinet to, you may or may not see the above Window.

If the source File Cabinet you are dragging has access rights that its new Parent File Cabinet doesn't have the above Edit File Cabinet Security Window will be displayed.  This Window will allow you to reset the access rights of destination File Cabinet to include any additional access rights that the source File Cabinet has.

Caution must be exercised since granting these rights now allows the source File Cabinets' new Parents to be accessed by the additional User Groups displayed in the above Window.
