Select & Configure Database ProviderOverviewSuiteFactory allows you to chose between four database providers and your choice should be based on the number of users, machine tools supported, ISO9000 requirements and the particular database provider that your company has chosen. Depending on your choice you will need to select a database location. SuiteFactory Runtime (Select Database...)
Click on the Configure menu and select Select Database and the following Window will be displayed. Note: After the installation and during the first startup the following Window will be displayed. You will need to select a database provider: Access; SQL Server, MSDE(SQL-Lite) or Oracle(2008). Depending on which provider you chose additional information will be required. If you are installing a new system, or on a new computer that doesn't have a previous SuiteFactory Version and are not upgrading the above Window will be displayed. Click the OK button to create a new Database and set it's Location. Select SuiteFactory Database
If you are creating an SQL Server database you will need to have SQL Server installed. SQL Server is not provided by CCI as part of the installation. You can also use "SQL-Lite" (MSDE) which doesn't require a Server. MSDE can be downloaded from Microsoft or it can be found in the latest Access Database Installation set. For selecting the various database providers select from the menus to the left.
