Maintenance Engine DNC Files

Overview

The "Maintenance Engine" is responsible for automatically importing DNC files into SuiteFactory's database.  During the operating cycle of the "Maintenance Engine" it queries the database to determine where to locate the various system folders that contain DNC files and imports these into the database maintaining the database configured relationships. 

Using this queried information it locates the system folders during its operation cycle and imports any files it finds in these folders assigning these to correct "Resource Collections"/"File Cabinets" as configured in the database.  This section explains what database options can be configured to meet the needs of your company.

Note: Open files will be passed by until the next scheduled Import. 

Notes:

1. Only a single instance of the "Maintenance Engine" can run at any one time.  This can be run from any Workstation that has SuiteFactory installed and has database visibility.

DNC File Auto Import

Check for DNC Files to Import Interval (in seconds)

This setting determines how often the Maintenance Engine looks for new N/C Files to import into the database.  

Note: Normally every few minutes is acceptable.  If this application is running on the same Workstation/Server where the database is located and or "Maintenance Engine" is running make sure this Workstation/Server can handle the loads.  System performance will suffer if your network/workstation are not adequate.  See "System Requirements" for more details.

Action When File Name Matches a DNC File Name (When Single Version Selected)

Replace Contents and Increment Version

Select this option if you would like to have the Version number incremented when a new file is imported into SuiteFactory.

Replace Contents and Keep Current Version

Select this option if you would don't want to have the Version number incremented when a new file is imported into SuiteFactory.
