Manual Import DocumentOverviewDuring the normal operation of SuiteFactory there are times when a User will need to Import a single document into SuiteFactory's database and the use of the The "Maintenance Engine" is not needed or would be too cumbersome to use. This is when the User would manually import a document into SuiteFactory. This section explains what database options can be configured to meet the needs of your company. Note: See below for explanations of these options.
Note: Only a single instance of the "Maintenance Engine" can run at any one time. This can be run from any Workstation that has SuiteFactory installed and has database visibility. Truncate Extension from NameThis option removes file extensions from imported Documents. I.e. Old Dec systems always added an extension to file names in it's file folder system. Choosing this option will strip the tail numbers. I.e. " xxxxxx.123" will be converted to "xxxxxx". Generate Automatic Name for Manually Imported DocumentsSelecting this option will supply a unique DNC File Name automatically. If the file name you have chosen from outside of SuiteFactory is not important use this option to reduce renaming of manually imported files. The ID's are settable for each "Resource Collection" adding any the flexibility you need. Note: After importing a file using this option you will be immediately brought to the data entry Window so you can enter the search criteria in the customer created search fields. Action After Import DocumentDelete Source Operating System FileIf this option is chosen SuiteFactory will delete the source file after importing the file into SuiteFactory. Move Source Operating System File to Sub-FolderIf this option is chosen SuiteFactory will move the source file to a subdirectory called Import. Leave Source Operating System File Where it isIf this option is chosen SuiteFactory will not delete or move the source file.
