Microsoft Jet 4.0
Overview
SuiteFactory can very effectively be deployed using Microsoft's Access
database if you requirements are not to demanding. If your active Users
are limited, under 12, and system access is not heavy Access is probably a good
choice. Remember that you can always upgrade to a different provider if
you find that access can't meet you needs.
Select SuiteFactory Database Window

Note: The default Database provider is Microsoft Jet 4.0 which is completely compatible with Access.
By using the "Select a Database Provider" selection "Microsoft Jet 4.0" and
browsing to a database path to select a new database or to an existing database,
an Access compatible database will be created.
Note: Important! If this is an upgrade make sure you have backed up the
database and all of it's related data before continuing. Also if you are
moving from Access to SQL Server you should ask CCI for it's "Access to SQL
upgrade Document" which explains what needs to be done for a successful
installation. You should not be using this selection method if you are
upgrading to SQL. See SQL Server for details.
If you are upgrading from a previous SuiteFactory Version the system will automatically
upgrade your present database at it's present location providing you are using the same
computer!. If you are using a new computer or a rebuild one you will need
to locate the existing database to complete the upgrade/attachment. See
you System Administrator for details.
Select database

SuiteFactory keeps a list of pervious databases attached to and from which
you can chose. If you would like to chose a new location click on the
Browse button and the following Window will be displayed.

To use the UNC click on the My Network Places and traverse the directory
structure as shown below.
Browsing My Network Places

You will be prompted to select a folder for
your database location. You can select a local directory or browse your
network. It is suggested to use UNCs and avoid using Mapped Drives.
Creating a Directory

After selecting the main directory where you want to install the database you
can create a subdirectory if one does not exist or chose and existing
folder/database. If you chose an existing database and this is an upgrade,
you will need exclusive access to the database. SuiteFactory will notify
you if the database is presently being used.
Click the OK Button and you will be brought to the login screen.
