CommunicationOverviewSuiteFactory supports setting the various RS232 parameters to be able to communicate to any shop floor equipment that supports RS232 communications. This includes the the various handshaking required. See below for the details on setting these parameters. Machine Properties (Communications)
Send/Receive Baud RateSelect the appropriate the baud rate needed to communicate with the present machine tool. Normally this is 9600 but may vary depending on the age of the controller. Also very old controllers may require hardware interfaces and as such these values will automatically be selected. Send/Receive WidthSelect the appropriate Width needed to communicate with the present machine tool. Normally it is 7 but may be 8. This is set when the SuiteFactory is installed. Send/Receive ParitySelect the appropriate Parity needed to communicate with the present machine tool. Normally it is Even but could be: Odd, None, Mark, Space. This is set when the SuiteFactory is installed. Send/Receive Stop BitsSelect the appropriate Stop Bit Size needed to communicate with the present machine tool. Normally it is one but could be two. This is set when the SuiteFactory is installed. Send/Receive HandshakingSelect the appropriate Handshaking needed to communicate with the present machine tool. Normally it is set to Both NoWait but could one of several. This is set when the SuiteFactory is installed. |
