Clear Assignments

Overview

SuiteFactory supports a concept of files being assigned to a Resource Collection which is a very flexible object. The Resource Collection can also have machine tools and Packets assigned. One of the properties of the Resource Collection is any machine tool assigned to it can access any files assigned to it.

If you want to make sure that a machine tool which is assigned to particular Resource Collection doesn't have access to a particular file you will need to clear that assignment.

This section details how to clear an assign N/C Files to "Resource Collections" for managing and providing access control.  See the details below.

Manage DNC Files (Unassigned Items-Change View)

Generally you need to set the correct "View" for un-assigning files to "Resource Collections". Click on the "Change View" button and the following Window is displayed.

Change DNC Files View Mode Window

If the "Assigned" radio button is not selected, select it now and set the other views are ok click the "OK" button and the following window will be displayed.

Manage DNC Files (Assigned Items-Clear Assign Action)

All of the files displayed have been assigned to at least one of the "Resource Collections".

You will notice that the "Clear-Assignment" is grayed out.  The reason for this is you can not assign/clear-assignments of files to machine tools but only to a "Resource Collection".  Click on the plus sign next to the machine tool you have selected and highlight the "Resource Collection" and file you want to clear-assignments to and the following Window is displayed.

Manage DNC Files (Assigned Items-Clear Assign Action)

By clicking on the "Clear-Assignment" button this file will be unassigned to this "Resource Collection".

Note: The above actions will not remove files from SuiteFactory's database.
