Overview

SuiteFactory provides communications to RS232 and FTP & UNC based Network Controllers.  This communication supports both sending and or receiving of N/C Files.

See below for how to initiate sending of files for these different types of controllers.

Manage DNC Files Window

RS232 Machine Tool Controller

Select/highlight the machine tool and the file you wish to send to this machine tools and click on the "Send" button.  The following Window is displayed.

Send Window

Send One Time or Continuously

Continuously

If you are drip-feeding and are producing more then one part select "Continuously"  and the Tape Mode radio button. If you are drip-feeding and are producing only one part select "One Time"  and the Tape Mode radio button.

One Time

If you are running from the controller select One Time and Memory Mode.  

Note: If you have chosen Continuously you will need to de-queue the job manually when you have finished running the job at teh machine tool since SuiteFactory will Continue to queue the same file over and over.

From which location in the DNC F....

If you are restarting an N/C File you are given the following options.

Start from the beginning of....

This start sending the file as normally right from the beginning.

Start sending from ...

This selection will activate the Search Button.

Clicking this Button will bring up the following Window.

Search Window

This Window will allow you to select a group of letters or words to search for. Once you have determined that this is where you want to start the file from click Start Button and the file will start sending from this point in the File to the machine tool.

How should Dynamic Remote Request handle ....

SuiteFactory supports what is called Dynamic Remote Request which can respond to an urgent request bypassing any pending requests.  Chose the type you want below.

Manage DNC Files (Assigned Items-Networked Controller Send/Send All)

Selecting an UNC Machine Tool (Networked Controller) and clicking on the Send/Send All Icon will bring up the following Window depending whether a Network Path has been set or is valid. If not the first window will warn you. 

In general the second Window will be displayed.

Warning - No path set

This indicates that a Network path has not been set or is incorrect. See you administrator before continuing.

Send All DNC File Window

You can use this Window to change the name of the file if there is a conflict in the receiving directory.  This also allows you to selectively send all of the files or particular files.  Chose the appropriate Button.

Note: If the Communications Engine is doing the sending there is no manual interaction and it will silently send these files renaming automatically if conflicts occur.
