Properties

Overview

SuiteFactory support two properties for N/C Files. These properties include whether this file is a Master File and the name of file extension which is helpful if you want to run it with a native application that is associated with this file. This could be initiated from within SuiteFactory using its third-party tools.

See below for details on setting these properties.

Manage DNC Files (Assigned Items-Properties)

Click on the Properties Icon and the following Window will be displayed.

Properties Window

There are two properties that can be set for DNC Files.

Master File

A "Master" File has the property that it can't normally be overwritten without special "Rights" even in a single version system.  So if you want to keep a file as a base file set it as a "Master" file.

File Type

NC Program

Determines if this is a file that can be executed on a Machine Tool.  I.e. G-CODE/

Help Topic

Determines if this is a file that is for displaying information at Machine Tool.  I.e. A Text File.

Status

If this is a N/C File you can set whether it can be sent to a machine tool or not. If it is a help file these options will not be displayed since you will not be able to send it to a machine tool.

Available for Sending to a Machine Tool

If it is a N/C File it can be sent to a machine tool.

Not Available for Sending to a Machine Tool

If it is a N/C File it can not be sent to a machine tool.

File Type (Extension)

This property setting is useful if you ever intend to use third-party applications for editing files where these endings are used by Windows to associate this file with a particular application.

I.e. The ending .doc is a Word Document.
