Registering WorkstationsOverviewSuiteFactory uses a concept called a Virtual Workstation which is an object that can be configured to a particular Users needs including screen layout and preferences. These Virtual Workstations are SuiteFactory Clients that become real when they are registered to a physical workstation inheriting the properties of the physical workstation plus the properties set for a particular User. This allows a User to register their Client to any physical workstation and maintain a personal configuration no matter where they may be on the network. Main Tool Bar (Grayed out)
After installing the license and activation key and during the first startup the Main Tool Bar Window is displayed with all of the "Icons" are grayed out. You must register/create a Virtual Workstation to in order to access SuiteFactory and its features. Click on the "Configure" Menu and the following Window will be displayed. Register This Workstation
Select the "Register This Workstation" menu and the following Window will be displayed. Create Virtual WorkstationThis Window will display all of the Workstations created in SuiteFactory.
If this is a new installation there will be no existing "Virtual Workstations" and you will need to create and name a Virtual Workstation. Click on the "New" button and the following Window will be displayed. Select Workstation Name
Chose an appropriate name that indicates it's intended use. In our case we will create a Workstation called DNC1, which will be for shop floor access and management. Click the "OK" button and the following Window will be displayed. Register DNC1 Workstation.
By registering one's self to a Workstation a user can manage SuiteFactory from this or any Workstation on the network, given the "User" has the appropriate "Rights". Click on the "Register" button and you will have access to SuiteFactory. Note: To see how "Workstations" are used to manage SuiteFactory and associated third-party applications, machine tools and COM Port drivers see Virtual & Physical Workstations.
