Send

Overview

SuiteFactory supports 12 different types of send protocols. All you need to do is to use the drop-down list and select the type you need. Normally this is done by CCI personnel during the installation.  Normally, once these parameters are set they don't need to be changed. Call CCI if you have any questions.

See below for details on the various settings.

Machine Properties (Protocol-Send)

Send Protocol

Normally the Generic RS232 is chosen for the newer controllers that don't require special hardware such as a BTR.  There are times that you need to set this to other then Generic RS232.  Call CCI before changing this setting.  These settings are established during installation.

Send Data Type

Normally ASCII is the Data Type for newer controllers. Only change this if there is good reason. Call CCI if you have any questions. These settings are established during installation.

Send Timeout (seconds)

Whenever a program is sent to a machine tool and the machine tools stops the transfer in mid-stream for any reason SuiteFactory will remove it from the send queue even if the whole file has not been sent based on the set timeout.  The only exception is if the value "0" is used then the file will never be removed except by manual intervention.  The "0" setting is used for drip-feeding while a positive value indicates how long SuiteFactory waits before removing it from the queue if no data has been received in the interim.

Send Buffer Size

This specifies the size of the send buffer and may effect the performance of a machine tool during high speed drip-feeding. CCI sets the size during installation and  this should not be changed. Call CCI if you are having problems.

Default button

Click this button will set the default size of the send buffer which is 16384.

Send POn to Start

Checking this option outputs a Punch On command.  This is used on old controllers.  Call CCI if you feel you need this set to on. These settings are established during installation.

Send POn Interval

This determines how often the Punch On command is sent.

Send POff at End

Checking this option outputs a Punch Off command.  This is used on old controllers.  Call CCI if you feel you need this set to on. These settings are established during installation.

Default to Tape Mode

Checking this option sets the default send mode to Tape Mode.  This would normally by used for BTRs, Drip-Feeding and for very old N/C Machine Tools.

Click on Add and the following module will be displayed.

Edit Leader Selection

Using the above module you can create any list and lines of characters needed to create a Leader.  This includes control characters, Man Readable, etc.

Edit Trailer Window

Some Controllers require that a Trailer to be sent after any transfer of data.  If this is the case Click on the "Edit Trailer" button and create the custom command using the displayed module.

Click on Add and the following module will be displayed.
