Mazatrol Convert

This technote is a step by step description on how to use the 3rd party tool, Solutionware’s Mazacam conversion utility to change between Mazak CNC control types. Login as a user with 3rd party rights and click on SuiteDNC for a file management view. It is assumed that the Mazatrol Conversion program has been installed, is setup as a 3rd party tool and the Mazacam dongle is plugged in.

Setting View

  1. Choose View/Resource Collections > Machines > Files – Assigned.

     

  2. Highlight the Resource Collection containing the file to be converted, highlight the file and click Check Out and Edit.

     

  3. Select Editing Tool: Choose Mazatrol Edit-Convert. Click OK.

     

  4. Click New Name. (Note! If you have Master File edit rights, a third button, "Use This File" appears which allows you to overwrite the original file in the DNC database.)

     

  5. Check-mark the Resource Collection(s) to which the converted file is to be assigned. Click OK.

     

  6. In the New Name field, re-name the file. This will be the name of the file after it is converted.
    Click Copy and Assign.

     

  7. The Mazacam Select Program/File dialog appears. Click Change CNC.

     

  8. Highlight the machine type to which you want to convert in the "Go to which Machine" list.
    Click Select Highlighted One.

     

  9. Highlight the now converted file. Click Save.

  10. To the Replace it? question, answer Yes.

     

  11. Click Yes to replace the original file.

     

  12. Click OK.

     

  13. Exit from the Mazacam screens. Click Exit.

     

  14. Click on the X to exit from this screen

     

  15. The arrow is now pointing to the converted file in the target Resource Collection. Note that the "Out" field is marked with an X. The Format is still Mazak M32. Click Check-In.

     

  16. Click Save

     

  17. And finally OK.

     

  18. Done! Note that the Format now says Mazak M2 and the "Out" field no longer is marked with an X.
