Overview

SuiteFactory provides a series for management tools allowing a User to access third-party applications to be able to manipulate/edit any document or n/c file stored in SuiteVault while proving file protection to the selected file/document.

Note: See below for details on these tools. 

Run 3rd-Party Tool

SuiteFactory provides a quick way to access third-party tools from within SuiteFactory.  This allows a SuiteFactory User to open a third-party tool from within SuiteFactory. This is for convenience sake since once the third-party application is started neither SuiteFactory or the third-party application knows about the other.

Copy and Open with 3rd-Party or Native Application

If you need to copy a Document from SuiteVault to an external folder for a third-party application the following details how you can accomplish this.  Once you have performed this operation SuiteFactory no longer has any knowledge on this document and the original document is not effected. 

Note: Performing this function doesn't delete the original file in SuiteVault.

Delete Copied Files

Check Out and Edit with 3rd-Party or Native Application

SuiteFactory's database is truly ISO9000 compliant and provides the means to control file/document versions and the who or what may be accessing/modifying these documents stored in its database. 

When you use the "Check Out and Edit" feature of SuiteFactory the file being manipulated/edited is marked inaccessible until it is checked back into SuiteFactory.  This protects this file from being used or modified by any other User until it is checked back in to SuiteVault.

Edit Check-Out File

SuiteFactory provides a User with the ability to check out a file for editing and allows this User to close the third-party application being used to edit this file without finishing the edits and bringing the file back into SuiteVault.  This allows a User to edit a file over an extended amount of time at their convenience without having to bring back into SuiteVault.  Click the above link to see details on editing a file that has been checked-out.

Check In Edited File

If you have previously Checked Out a File for editing with a third-party application and have completed the Edits but have not Checked this File back into SuiteVault you can Check In The Edited File as follows.

Note: Any File that has been "Checked-Out" can not be edited, queued, etc. It has a status of don't touch! View yes, Edit NO!

Abandon Edits and Check In

 If you have checked out a document or n/c file from SuiteFactory to perform editing or modification and then determine you don't want to save these edits/modifications you would select the "Abandon Edits and Check In" button.
