ViewOverviewIn general when you are managing files you only need to look at particular groupings. By grouping files according to a base set of criteria you narrow the files of interest considerably. SuiteFactory allows you to develop any number of "Relationship Views" relating N/C files to Resource Collections, File Cabinets, Assigned/Unassigned, Approved/Unapproved, etc. There are five different ways to View Files when creating a particular views. Couple this with the use of File Cabinets, Assigned & Unassigned Files, Viewing Approved and or Unapproved Files and there are more then 100 different possible Views. If you want to narrow the resulting View of Files further you can use SuiteFactory's "SQL Search Engine". Note: Different categories may or may not be visible depending on User Groups your belong to. The above view shows where & how you can change the various views available to you. By selecting the various views you can see how the relationships between files, machines, resource collection, etc. are related and allow for easily changing or modify these relationships. See the following for details. File CabinetsFile Cabinets allow you to manage/store N/C Files in manner analogous to the way you store documents in your office with the added ability to restrict access and visibility. It is great management tool to aiding you to categorize file according to any criteria that meets your needs. File Cabinets are also secure only allowing specified User Groups access. You can create as many File Cabinets as needed and drag and drop these to any place on the File Cabinet Hierarchy you have access to. Note: See "File Cabinets" for a complete explanation. File ViewsWhen managing files there is never a single right way to view and manipulate them. SuiteFactory provide multiple views for managing your files. See below for details on how to change views. Files->Resource Collections and Machines
This view would be used when you know the name of the file. You can start to type the name of the file in the text box that presently has the file: 50470-07. SuiteFactory will immediately start to display file meeting the criteria typed in. Unassigned Files->Resource Collections and Machines
This view shows all the files that have not been assigned to a "Resource Collection". This view would be used to assign files to "Resource Collections". Machines->Resource Collections->Files
This view shows the selected machine tool and any files associated with this machine tool. What is significant about this view it displays files across all "Resource Collections" associated with this machine tool. Resource Collections->Machines->Files
This view shows all files and machine tools associated with this "Resource Collection". Files Waiting for Sign-off
This view is for checking N/C Files that need given "Approved" status. SuiteFactory supports ISO9000 Approval of N/C Files before using. You can selectively have an N/C File setup for approval before it is used in production. You can setup a set of "Users" that need to approve this file before given the status of "Approved". See Approved/Un-Approved section. AssignmentAssignedAn assigned file is a file that has been assigned/associate with a Resource Collection. Resource Collections are the glue that connect User Groups, Machine Tools and Packets together. If this option has been selected only assigned files are displayed. You would want to use this view if you were sending files to machine tools, want to un-assign files from a "Resource Collection", delete files, etc. If a User belongs to a User Group that is associated with a Resource Collection that contains N/C Files and Machine Tools he can perform whatever actions he has "Rights" for. Not AssignedAn un-assigned file is a file that has not been assigned/associate with a Resource Collection. Chose this option if you want to Assign a File to a "Resource Collection" or perform whatever actions their "Rights" allow. Show Authorized UsersSet Default View SuiteFactory allows a User to save their present position at a view level and return to it whenever they startup SuiteFactory. Click on this menu choice to save the view.
