Searching for Files

Search Engine

The Search Engine is used to find any file or document based on their standard Window's properties and or in conjunction with the data values that have been stored in customer creatable search columns.

Customer Configurable

The Search Engine can be quickly configured to search for any files/documents based on their properties and or search criteria defined by the customer. This search is defined by using built in boolean conditions to narrow the search range.

There can be several conditions used at the same time to locate the needed files and documents. The Search Engine can use the following criteria for its searches: key words, dates, integers, text, pick-list, etc.

Search Field Types

Text

A Text Field allows you to enter alphanumeric characters.

Key Fields

A Key Field consists of a group of values that a field can support simultaneously.

Pick-Lists

A Pick-List Field consists of a group of values from which a particular value can be chosen for populating a Pick-List Field.

Integer

This Field can hold a integer value.

Date

A Date Field consist of value that is date formatted and can have a default date of today.

Boolean

A Boolean Field consists of a value of true or false only.

Single & Long

These Fields can hold a decimal value.

Using the Search Engine

After setting the search conditions and clicking the OK button all of the files meeting the set conditions will be displayed in the File Window.
